About

The Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) is an award-winning, non-profit organization that debuted on March 31, 2003, and was named New Jersey's 'Outstanding Community Theater Of The Year' for 2022, as chosen by the New Jersey Association Of Community Theaters (NJACT). Since our 'birth', MTC has produced:

• First Season (2003): 8 Performances / 1 Musical / 90 Actors
• First 23 Seasons (2003 - 2025): 1,137 Performances / 251 Musicals / 10,536 Actors
• Season Averages: 49.4 Performances / 10.9 Shows / 458.1 Actors per Season / 38.7 Actors per Show
• COVID-19 Months (June 2020 – December 2021): 79 LIVE Performances of 19 LIVE Musicals (performed outside!) by 485 Actors (wearing clear face masks!) during a worldwide global pandemic!

24th Season (2026): In a 'typical' Season, MTC offers 14 to 16 productions for children, college students, and adults. In 2026, we will produce such shows as "Mary Poppins JR.", "A Celebration Of Black Voices", "Disney's My Son Pinocchio JR.", "Disney's High School Musical JR.", "Xanadu JR.", "A Year With Frog And Toad KIDS", "Disney's The Little Mermaid", "Peter Pan JR.", "Chicago Teen Edition", "Disney's Mary Poppins JR.", "Disney's Descendants", "Honk JR.", "Scenes & Songs VII", and two musicals still TBA.

MTC has received these 96 National, Regional, and Local Awards since 2005:
• 19 'Best Of' Awards (11 Cast & 8 Individual) at National Jr. Theater Festival (JTF) by 16 Casts at 14 festivals since 2013
• 02 'Best Of' Awards (Best Showcase Production & Best Choreography) at Regional Eastern States Theater Assoc. Festival (ESTA Fest) in 2017
• 75 'Best Of' Awards from various Organizations and Publications since 2005

• Jan.: First 'Excellence In Dance' Award at JTF (after seven 'Acting' and two 'Music' Excellence Awards)
• Jan.: ‘Freddie G Fellowship’ Award presented to Mark Morgan from Music Theatre International at JTF
• Mar.: ’40 Fabulous Females’ Award from The Sun Newspapers / Donnelly Media to Carol Ann Murray
• Mar.: MTC's 10,000th Cast Member performed in "Frozen JR."
• Jun.: 'Twink Lynch Organizational Award' presented to MTC at AACT Fest in Des Moines, IA
• July.: 'Freddie G Fellowship' Weekend in NYC for Mark Morgan to receive $5,000 contribution to MTC

• Apr.: Brought the 1st (& still only) Chapter to NJ of the National 'Penguin Project' for neurodiverse kids

• Nov.: ‘Community Impact Award' given to MTC from Assoc. of Fundraising Professionals, SNJ Chapter

• Nov.: MTC entered into a rental relationship with First Methodist Church to host all of our productions

• Jun.: ‘Best Collaborative Award' presented to MTC and fellow MBA Member Bayada Home Health Care from the Non Profit Development Center of Southern New Jersey

MTC offers Acting, Dance, Improv, Music, & Piano Classes for all-aged performers, as well as private voice and acting lessons, at our Performing Arts Studio, 5 West Main Street in downtown Moorestown.

Hours
Due to many evening and weekend rehearsals and performances, MTC does not have regular business hours. Depending if our rehearsals / classes are in our Performing Arts Studio (at 5 W. Main Street) or First Methodist Church (446 E. Camden Avenue, where we perform our shows), we are usually on site one hour before rehearsals.
