About
The Moorestown Theater Company (MTC) is an award-winning, non-profit organization that debuted on March 31, 2003, and was named New Jersey's 'Outstanding Community Theater Of The Year' for 2022, as chosen by the New Jersey Association Of Community Theaters (NJACT). Since our 'birth', MTC has produced:
First Season (2003): 8 Performances / 1 Musical / 90 Actors
First 21 Seasons (2003 - 2023): 1,001 Performances / 223 Musicals / 9,422 Actors (we'll hit 10,000 Actors in '24)
Season Averages of 47.7 Performances / 10.6 Musicals / 448.7 Actors (per Season) and 42.3 Actors (per Show)
22nd Season (2024): In a 'typical' Season, MTC offers 14 to 16 productions for children, college students, and adults. In 2024, we will offer such shows as Shrek JR. (opening March 15th), Seussical JR., Newsies JR., Fiddler On The Roof, Rent, Cinderella Youth Edition, Grease: School Edition, Willy Wonka JR., Disney's Beauty And The Beast JR., the return of Scenes & Songs VI for Adults, and Elf JR.
COVID-19 Months (June 2020 – December 2021): 79 Performances / 19 LIVE Musicals / 485 Actors during a worldwide global pandemic!
MTC has received these 78 National, Regional, and Local Awards:
• 16 'Best Of' Awards (9 Cast & 7 Individual) at national Jr. Theater Festival (JTF) by 14 Casts at 12 festivals since 2013
• 02 'Outstanding' Awards (Best Showcase Production & Best Choreo) at regional Eastern States Theater Assoc. Festival (ESTA Fest) in 2017
• 60 'Best Of' Awards from local Organizations / Publications since 2007
Other recent highlights / awards for MTC include:
• Bringing the first Chapter to NJ of the National 'Penguin Project' (for neurodiverse students) in 2023
• 'Innovator Award' from the New Jersey Theatre Alliance in 2023
• 'Community Impact Award' from the Assoc. of Fundraising Professionals, Southern NJ Chapter in 2023
• Building a permanent Theater and Tech Booth to host all of our shows at First Methodist Church in 2022
• 'Best Collaborative Award' from the Non Profit Development Center of Southern New Jersey in 2022

Hours
Due to many evening and weekend rehearsals and performances, MTC does not have regular business hours. Depending if our rehearsals / classes are in our Performing Arts Studio (at 5 W. Main Street) or First Methodist Church (446 E. Camden Avenue, where we perform our shows), we are usually on site one hour before rehearsals.
